Sania Mirza Bhupathi into Australian Open Mixed doubles finals

India's tennis sensation Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi is into the Australian Open mixed doubles Finals now. Sania and Bhupati beat Czechs Iveta Benesova and Lukas Dlouhy in straight sets yeterday.

Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupati were the runners up in the last Australian Open tournament.

Now Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupati will take on unseeded French-Israeli combine of Nathalie Dechy and Andy Ram. [See Sania Mirza sexy pictures gallery]



With this win, Bhupathi now has two finals. He is also in the men's doubles finals under his belt. Bhupathi has sixed mixed doubles Grand Slam titles.

Last mixed doubles Grand Slam was last 2006 Australian Open with Martina HIngis.

Indian tennis sensation Sania Mirza is out of Australian Open on Wednesday, 20th January 2009 as she lost to Russian 10th seed Nadia Petrova.

This was her second match and Sania lost to Nadia Petrova in 6-3, 6-2 sets.

But Sania Mirza said that she was just happy to be back after a painful six months gap.

But the 22-year-old sexy Sania Mirza vowed to bounce back. Currently she is 108 in the WTA ranking.



With Sania Mirza's defeat, Indian challenge ended in the singles action in the first Grand Slam of the year.

Australian Open - Sania Mirza in second round

Sania Mirza is in second round of Australian Open after defeating Marta Domachowska of Poland in straight sets (6-1, 6-4). Marta Domachowska is currently world no.61

“It was a great way to begin after such a long break. I have not played a match in almost six months now. I am just happy to have come through." Said Sania Mirza.



“I feel like I have been hitting the ball really well over the last few days but I was a bit nervous when I went on because there's a difference between being fit and being match-fit.”

Sania Mirza will play in Fed Cup Asia Oceania

As per news reports, it is confirmed that Sania Mirza will participate in Fed Cup Asia Oceania (Group 1) tennis event. Fed Cup Asia Oceania will be played in Australia in February 2009.

This will be the first tournament for Sania after her wrist injury during Beijing Olympics.

India, Australia, Korea, Thailand, Chinese Taipei and Uzbekistan are the participating countries.
